External Qi Healing
External Qi Healing (EQH) is a form of energetic healing developed by Daoist Master Tseng Yun Xiang of Wudang mountain in China (aka Master Chen). EQH follows classical Chinese medical theory and can be used to treat any condition treated by acupuncture.
A typical EQH session begins with a thorough consultation and intake just like an acupuncture session. After this, the practitioner will gently massage the body for a while to encourage you to enter a state of relaxation. EQH then begins. The practitioner will emit external healing energy (wàiqì 外氣) to you in order to reestablish harmony and union of spirit, mind, and body. Most qì emission is non-contact. At the end of the hour-long treatment, there will be another round of light massage to help you awaken and readjust to your surroundings. Prescription qìgōng exercises will then be taught in order to maintain the results of the treatment.
EQH treatments should be given in two rounds of five treatments each given every 2-3 days with a five day break between treatment rounds. Most conditions will have significantly improved or have been alleviated by this time. It is highly recommended to continue some form of qìgōng practice after you stop taking treatments to ensure lasting results, increased quality of living, and enhanced longevity. The value of EQH is that it not only helps you acheive a greater level of health with far-reaching and lasting benefits, but it also puts you in control of your healing by teaching you how to achieve greater harmony with the world around you.
